Clifton College

While making his acceptance speech for Best Prep School head, Hugh Cocke announced his retirement and passed the reigns over to Nigel Westlake. With the school in such good form, Mr Westlake adopted an ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ strategy, which he has done to the top degree.

The school prides itself on its high standards, whether it be the refurbishment of the science centre, the new combat assault course or taking care of the hamster in the girls’ common room. With the majority of staff living on site or in nearby houses owned by the school, there is a real sense of community that tends to stay with alumni for years to come.
